Sarah was born and raised in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She graduated from Belhaven College in 1969 with a B.S. in Biology. She married after college and she and her husband had four children. In 1987 they moved their young family to Austin, Texas, where Sarah worked in the semiconductor industry for fifteen years. She later became the web editor for a local paper where she thoroughly enjoyed the ever-changing technology and brisk pace.
While Sarah loves the wonderful people, dazzling sunsets, and exquisite Tex-Mex of the Lone Star State, she knew that when she retired from the newspaper business, she wanted to be near her grown children, who were by then scattered from Alaska to South Carolina with their spouses and children.
Sarah spends the majority of her year in the Low Country of South Carolina where she is near her oldest two daughters and their families. The holidays and summers will usually find her visiting her son in Texas and youngest daughter in Alaska.
Sarah enjoys technology, puzzles, and painting, as well as good conversation. She loves the Women’s Ministry at Grace Coastal, is a voracious reader, and still a devotee of good Tex-Mex. She keeps the administrative side of church business running smoothly and loves interacting with the church family in the role of secretary, friend, or simply “Grandma Sarah".
