Grace Coastal Church is a host congregation for Family Promise of Beaufort County, Inc.  Family Promise is an interfaith non-profit organization committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence.  FPBC help families accomplish this goal by providing shelter, meals and support services for homeless families.  Family Promise serves families.  To be eligible for these services there must be children with a parent(s) or guardian.

Providing support as a host congregation involves sheltering up to 14 people or 4 families at a time.  For one week a quarter our church family will not only provide rooms for each family but a hot evening meal, items for a bag lunch and a contenential breakfast in the morning.  Guests shower, do laundry and attend support services during the day at the Day Center.

Grace Coastal Church also supports Family Promise by serving on the Board of Directors and volunteer recruitment for the day center.

Volunteers are needed to provide and serve meals, fellowship with our guests and their children, drive the van in the a.m. and p.m. and sleep at the church as hosts for the evening.  

Family Promise and local congregations have collaborated together to affect our county in response to the Beaufort Alliance of Human Services goal of reducing the number of children living in poverty in Beaufort County.  We consider it a priviledge to serve in this way.
